About the Founder

Debra Baum, the creative mind behind the iconic “74” Jacket, embodies a diverse journey that reflects the distinctiveness of her designs. With over two decades of experience in communications, design, hospitality, and a penchant for all things vintage, she fused her passions and extensive background into crafting the unique 74 Jacket.

For the past five years, Debra has made the jacket her signature piece. Whether she’s strolling through her hometown of Chicago or exploring the bustling streets of NYC and charming small towns, the jacket always turns heads. Passersby often ask, “Where did you find that jacket?” As fate would have it, during a visit to an antique market in search of vintage furniture for a client, Debra stumbled upon another U.S. 1940s military jacket, this time in blue—a rare gem she had never encountered before. Captivated, she bought it and started wearing it. Soon, friends and family were clamoring for their own versions, and thus, 74 the Jacket was born.

Today, 74 the Jacket graces high-end boutiques across the country. New vintage-inspired designs are continually released, each piece a testament to Debra’s love for vintage treasures and her keen eye for style.
